Paul has served as an arbitrator, mediator or lead counsel in over 175 disputes, including multi-state and cross-border disputes. He continues to focus on serving as a neutral in ADR cases involving commercial, technology, employment, and financial issues, as well as contracts and licenses. His long-time ADR work started three decades ago when he was invited to serve as a neutral for the AAA, and he currently serves on its Commercial, Technology, IP, Employment, Financial Services, and LCC panels. He is also a member of the arbitration and mediation panel of Resolute Systems LLC (which recently became a Veritext company). According to Chambers USA, he is “renowned for his work in the technology arena,” and he has also received accolades for his work in other areas. He is a CIArb member.
He has frequently been invited to lecture on ADR training programs for the ABA, NYSBA, AAA, and others. He was invited to be a speaker on the NYSBA Series on “Habits of Highly Effective Dispute Resolvers.” He is a member of the Executive Committee of the NYSBA DRS (ADR) Section. He is a co-chair of its Programs Committee, which coordinates with other Committees that cover many ADR areas. He was a founding co-chair of its Technology Committee. He is also a member of the AAA-ICDR Financial Services Advisory Committee. He is listed for ADR in SuperLawyers. He has served as a member of arbitration panels and as the sole arbitrator, as well as a mediator, in many cases including for Expedited Procedures. He has also been listed for litigation. When he has served as counsel, he has represented Claimants and Respondents.
He has been appointed by the New York State Chief Judge to serve on the Statewide Committee on ADR. He has also been appointed by the NYS State Chief Administrative Judge to serve on the Statewide Committee on AI. He is the only lawyer appointed by the Judges to serve on both the Statewide Committees for ADR and AI.
